A:Laurie Warfield is a consumer science teacher at Foran Highschool.

Q:What is  Consumer Science?

A:Food Consumer Science  is a discipline concerned with all technical aspects of food, beginning with harvesting and ending with its cooking and consumption. 

Q:Why should I take this class?

A:There are many advantages of taking this class. You will learn alot about Food Science, and will have a very good understanding about the background of food. Many careers are food related and can range from Product Development, which is like the creating/inventing of a new food, to Food Physics which is the study of the physical aspects of food. There are many careers relating to cooking, and if you are interested you should take this class!

Q:How often are quizzes/tests given?

A: Tests and Quizzes dates, can vary depending on when we learn our lesson plans. But they will be given out frequently to test your knowledge of the material you’ve learned that week.

Q:How often is homework given?

A: Like Tests and Quizzes, homework can vary also. They will be given out daily, but there will be some exceptions, where there is no homework on some days. Homework is for a grade and is to help you review lessons and understand more about the topic at home.
